For decades now, the citizens of Shamrock and the surrounding area have enjoyed going to moves at the Texas Theater. Today, the theater still serves the community with first-run movies utilizing a new digital 3D projection system and Dolby surround sound, all in the comfort of newly installed stadium seating.
At one time, there were 41 movie theatres named “Texas Theatre” in Texas. Currently, the Texas Theater in Shamrock is the last remaining Texas Theater where motion pictures of the stars and stories we love still flash across the silver screen every week. The Texas Theater in Shamrock held their grand opening of the new $30,000 building in late August 1930. Behind the beautiful silver screen, an old stage is hidden with a basement and to this day, the basement is covered in many signatures left by actors in the dressing room.
Texas Theater is operated by David and Georgann Rion and they love serving the community by providing a new movie every weekend!
