Once upon a time, there were 41 movie theatres named “Texas Theatre” in Texas. Currently, the Texas Theater in Shamrock is the last remaining Texas Theater where motion pictures of the stars and stories we love still flash across the silver screen every week. The Texas Theater in Shamrock held their grand opening of the new $30,000 building in late August 1930. Behind the beautiful silver screen, an old stage is hidden with a basement and to this day, the basement is covered in many signatures left by actors in the dressing room.

Athel D. Boyter owned the Texas Theater from January 1, 1974 to October 10, 1991. At that time he donated it to the Shamrock Economic Development Corp., who still owns the building.
Texas Theater is now owned and operated by David and Georgann Rion and they love serving the community by providing a new movie every weekend!
